What Does Trucking Insurance Cover?
Trucking insurance provides a lot of the same coverages as personal auto insurance.
This includes:
• Liability: Liability insurance assists when the trucker causes bodily injury or property damage to someone else.
• Non-trucking liability: This insurance helps when the trucker causes property damage or bodily injury while using the truck outside of work.
• Cargo insurance: Cargo insurance helps compensate for lost or damaged cargo during transportation.
• Non-owned trailer damage and liability: This insurance steps in for attached trailers that are not owned by the trucker.
• Comprehensive: As with personal auto insurance, comprehensive coverage helps cover against damage due to accidents not including a collision, such as fire, falling tree branches, hail and theft.
• Collision: Collision covers physical damage due to a collision with a vehicle or object.
• Bobtail Insurance: Bobtail insurance covers trucks without a trailer.
